OffLine Data Entry

I have requirements of prospects about offline data entry.
In situations when no network connection is available, however, the input of data, barcode scanning, taking photos, etc. must still be possible. Once a connection is restored, the data should be automatically or by pressing a button sent to the back-end server for processing.
It seems as point 2 and 3 in Q & A entry "LongRange Features" on Aug 20, 2012 describe such a functionality. Do I understand this correctly? If so, are there source examples available?
Thank you in advance & regards
alfred

A new RPG demonstration version will be shipped in the next month or so that includes the example code for some offline examples. If you contact me directly I can probably arrange to give you this material earlier.

after finally sitting together with my prospect face to face I got a better understanding of his requirements.
most important requirement is to work offline with data records, i.e. select and download a set of records (customers, contacts, products etc.) to the mobile device to later - when no server connection is available - work with this set of data records (add, update, delete);
another essential requirement is to take photos and scan barcodes offline for later processing when a connection is available;
also the use of push messages to the mobile device would be very desirable;
does LANSA has working examples available to demonstrate?

We had the same requests by some prospects during a longrange presentation last week.
How can we store data on the tablet for offline processing - and how can we transfer them automatically back into IBMi database when the tablet goes online again?
We have no skills in native tablet programming so we need a solution in RPG.
Prospect is waiting for an answer - so we would be very happy if there were any programming examples available!
Many thanks in advance,
Joerg

LongRange is currently being enhanced to allow simple offline data collection and display.
This will be available in a few months time.
However, at this point in time, the only way to do offline data collection is by means of JavaScript/HTML running in a LongRange Web View.

If you have the latest shipped LongRange-RPG demonstration installed on your server execute the shipped demonstration App (LongRangesDemo.lxp).
Use Programming Examples -> Web View Examples -> Advanced Web View Examples. You should find 4 examples that demonstrate some offline processing fundamentals. These examples are available now but they use a mixture of RPG and HTML/JavaScript.
A pure RPG (or RDMLX) version of this offline capability is currently being developed (as Tony indicated).
If you are LANSA employee you can get more details of this new capability from the latest LPC Regional status report.
If you are a prospect or customer you can get more details from your regional LANSA office. See
