(RPG) U/I Element Focus

Is there a way, or will there be a way, to programmatically set the focus to a given U/I element?
For example, when validating several input-capable fields in a formView, I'd like to "position cursor" to the field in error upon return from displaying a popOver message.
Seems simple enough, but I don't see a way to do this.
