RDMLX - Can I import LongRange obj into an RDML Partition

Post by patrickfleming »

I am about to install LongRange into a V12SP1 system where the partition is RDML. The partition flag will be set to RDMLX soon (the 5250 LANSA/AD apps having been tested in RDMLX partition) but I am wondering whether I can import and configure before the RDMLX flag is set or do I have to wait.
The "What do you need" section of the "Getting Started with LongRange LANSA" guide does not specify that the partition I am importing into must be RDMLX although chatting with colleagues and checking the imported objects seemed to indicate that components were RDMLX objects and therefore would fail to import into an RDML partition.
If the requirement is an RDMLX partition, I would recommend that the Getting Started Guide What do you need section should be updated.

System requirements also do not specify RDMLX. The requirements are shown as :
System Requirements

You need to have LANSA for the Web installed, licensed and operating on your LANSA system on the IBM i.
Your Data/Application server must be enabled for LXML output. See the Web Administrator, in the Data/Application Server configuration the ‘Disable LXML Output’ setting must be unchecked.
You can not use Web Authentication or a proxy server.
Your images folder must reside in <LANSA root folder>/webserver/ and not the older style lansaimg folder.
LANSA Version must be at 12 SP 1 or later.
The LANSA demonstration system must be installed into the partition you are using.
The user importing the LongRange LANSA components must have partition security officer authority with *ALLOBJ rights .

No Patrick. The partition must be RDMLX enabled. The LongRange WAM and the other RDMLX components won't import correctly and will have to be re-imported after the partition is enabled for RDMLX. The partition will also have to be Web enabled again to import all the standard LANSA stuff for running WAMs.

I will revise the documentation.
