You can easily mass configure iPads & iPhones in your organization using a nifty program from Apple called "Apple Configurator".

Apple Configurator can be used by larger organizations and businesses to set up new devices, install enterprise apps, and enroll each device with a Mobile Device Management solution for remote management by an IT administrator.
Non-corporate users may also find Apple Configurator useful, as it allows you to configure Wireless network passwords & VPN easily from your computer.
Note that "Apple Configurator" is currently available only on Mac OS X.
Apple has a similar program available for Windows called "iPhone Configuration Utility", however it has a different feature set, and configuring multiple devices using "iPhone Configuration Utility" is not as simple as using the Apple Configurator.
