Menu Reload Button

Post by Bueti »

Hi all.
Using the reload button in the client application's main menu returns an error (pop-up window with text "Error" and button "OK").

DIrect impacts / side effects (always same error):
a) Changed schema (through LongRange Studio) will not be loaded
b) New schema created (through LongRange Studio) will not be loaded
c) Switching of server profiles (through client configuration) does not load new menu
d) Changing the schema of the current server profile does not load new menu
e) Any reinstall of the client application on a device (after use the reload button once) does not load new menu (application not usable anymore)

With such a situation, the planned testing weekend seams to turn into spare time ...

Any other experience and/or suggestions ?
Thanks in advance and regards,

Hi René,
Can you enable client-side logging, this may help pinpoint the problem.

Steps to enable logging:
http://longrange.lansa.com.au/download/file.php?id=10

Press the 'Reload' button again on your iPad to produce logs.

Email the resulting log file to [email protected] (you can email the log file directly from the Troubleshooting & Support screen under Settings).

Hi again.
Okay, after some authority problems with LongRange Studio, I messed around with *PUBLIC authority in the <axes-root> folder (thank's Tony for the hint!).
After a brief cleanup, the reload button is working again (and the device's cached data is replaced, solving all problems mentioned before). My fault!
Nice weekend and regards,
